The property and home were in shambles but they were up for the challenge. It was a pain staking labor of love but Rick, Michelle, and their boys made what was barely livable into a little piece of paradise.

Tamarac Garden is made up of Rick & Michelle McAninch along with their three sons, Hunter, Carter, & Gunner. In 2015 they took a huge risk and moved from the suburbs of Seattle to Athol, ID not knowing what awaited, but knowing that God had called them there for something much bigger than themselves.

As they cultivated the garden they knew it was to be for more than just their family. Michelle began to learn about the medicinal power of the herbs, weeds & native plants. With a beautifully enormous garden, their whole property, and acres and acres of state land to forage, Michelle began to build up a medicinal apothecary to care for her family’s needs. It moved quicky from caring for just her family, to friends, distant relatives, and anyone that needed care. Michelle is now an herbalist and is constantly learning more about the healing power of the plants God has put on the earth for us.

With a prolific garden and seemingly endless weeds to work with they have made Tamarac Garden come to life. They hand craft healing salves, medicinal teas, and other herbal remedies to cure all sorts of ailments.
